Nova Scotia School Bus Driver Charged with Child Luring
Luc Georges Castonguay, a 58-year-old school bus driver from Amherst, N.S., faces child luring charges following an investigation that began in October. He has been suspended without pay and released on strict conditions ahead of a January court appearance.
A 58-year-old school bus driver from Amherst, Nova Scotia, has been charged with luring a child and making sexually explicit material available to a child.

Luc Georges Castonguay was arrested following an investigation that began in October after authorities received a report indicating a man had communicated online with a youth for a sexual purpose. The RCMP, the Provincial Child Exploitation Unit, and RCMP Digital Forensic Services were involved in the case.
On Tuesday, police executed a search warrant at a home on Central Avenue in Amherst, where they seized electronic evidence.
Castonguay is employed as a school bus driver and has been suspended without pay by the Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education.
He was released on strict conditions requiring him to stay away from anyone under 18 and avoid places children frequent. He must also refrain from internet use except for banking or employment purposes.

Castonguay is scheduled to appear in Amherst provincial court on Jan. 25.
Investigators suspect there may be additional victims targeted online and are urging parents to discuss online safety with their children. In Nova Scotia, it is mandatory to report suspected child sexual abuse and exploitation material to police or cybertip.ca.
