Manuel Cierra, program manager for the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), stated that the excavation will be approximately 15 feet deep along the center of the road. Halifax Water is working as an internal stakeholder on transmission water main upgrades and sewer separation plans alongside the road construction.

The closure has increased traffic congestion and delays for commuters. Local drivers have expressed frustration regarding limited alternative routes, with some avoiding the area or seeking new paths to navigate around the construction. Businesses, homes, and schools in the surrounding area are affected by the closure.
