Bedford Highway to Close Overnight for Sign Structure Removal
The Halifax Regional Municipality will close Bedford Highway between Windsor Street and the Joseph Howe Drive ramps from 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 to 7 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 18 to safely remove an overhead sign structure ahead of the Windsor Street Exchange project.
The Halifax Regional Municipality has announced that Bedford Highway will be closed between Windsor Street and the Joseph Howe Drive ramps from 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17 to 7 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18.
The closure is required to facilitate the safe removal of an overhead sign structure that crosses the full width of Bedford Highway. Removing the sign enables upcoming construction of a detour road supporting future phases of the Windsor Street Exchange project.
During the work, Bedford Highway will be closed in both directions at the Windsor Street intersection. Marked detours will be in place, and drivers should expect delays. However, access to Bedford Highway from the MacKay Bridge and Highway 111 will not be impacted by this work.
Pedestrians can continue to use the area, as the sidewalk along Bedford Highway will remain open throughout the closure.
