Final Ride for Cancer in Halifax Raises $4 Million as QEII Foundation Plans New Fundraising Model

More than 1,000 cyclists took part in the 12th and final Ride for Cancer in Halifax on Saturday, raising $4 million. Since 2015, the event has generated over $19.1 million for cancer care at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. The QEII Foundation plans to transition to a new peer-to-peer fundraising event.

The 12th annual event raised $4 million. Since it began in 2015, the ride has brought in more than $19.1 million. The funds have been used to support cancer-fighting technology, equipment, and spaces at the QEII Health Sciences Centre.

Moving forward, the foundation plans to pivot to a new peer-to-peer event to create a sustainable model for funding cancer care.
