Nova Scotia Awards Over $2.75 Million in Grants to 100 Emergency Service Organizations
The province of Nova Scotia is distributing more than $2.75 million through the Emergency Services Provider Fund, granting up to $30,000 each to 100 emergency service organizations for equipment and regional collaboration.
One hundred emergency service organizations in Nova Scotia are receiving grants from the province to strengthen their emergency response capacity. The funding, which totals more than $2.75 million, comes from the Emergency Services Provider Fund.
Each organization will receive up to $30,000. The money is available to fire departments, hazardous materials units, and ground search and rescue crews for the purchase of emergency response equipment.
Kim Masland serves as the minister of Emergency Management. Under her portfolio, the Emergency Services Provider Fund also offers regional funding for organizations and municipalities working together on preparedness, response, and recovery efforts.
