Demolition of the former Brooklyn Warehouse restaurant and neighboring buildings in Halifax has begun to make way for a proposed seven-storey, 112-unit apartment building. Demolition permits were issued for the Brooklyn Warehouse site, the building housing Gold Barbershop, and an adjacent apartment building. All three properties are owned by Sigma3 Inc. and are located across Almon Street from the Halifax Forum.

The demolition is intended to clear the site for a proposed seven-storey, 112-unit apartment building that includes two underground parking levels. Sarah Brannen, a spokeswoman for the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), confirmed that the municipality has received a development permit application for the project, which is currently under review.

Brooklyn Warehouse owner George Christakos announced the restaurant's closure in early 2025. He cited lease renewal costs and a desire to focus on his other restaurant, Battery Park, located in Dartmouth. Christakos originally started Brooklyn Warehouse with his late father, Leo, in 2007.
