Halifax Seeks Public Input on Peninsula South Complete Streets Design
The Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting residents to provide feedback on design options for the Peninsula South Complete Streets project, which aims to create a safe cycling route between University Avenue and Lower Water Street.
The Halifax Regional Municipality is currently seeking public feedback on design options for the Peninsula South Complete Streets project. The initiative explores creating a safe, connected cycling route between University Avenue and Lower Water Street while maintaining two-way traffic where possible.
This complete street initiative supports Regional Council’s Active Transportation Priorities Plan and Integrated Mobility Plan (IMP). Public input will help identify a preferred option and inform a recommendation to Regional Council.
Residents can participate through several channels. A survey regarding the project opens on Monday, Sept. 21, and closes on Sunday, Oct. 11.
For those preferring in-person engagement, a session is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the John W. Lindsay YMCA - Child and Family Centre, located at 5640 Sackville Street. Additionally, a virtual engagement session will take place on Thursday, Oct. 1, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
