Investigation Launched into Unusual Sewer Odour in Middle Sackville
Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency and Halifax Water are investigating an unusual odour in the sewer system affecting approximately 50 households in Middle Sackville, with residents advised to avoid the area.
Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency (HRFE) and Halifax Water are currently investigating reports of an unusual odour within the sewer system in Middle Sackville. The investigation is focused on the specific area surrounding Claudia Crescent, Lucy Court, and Flora Court.
Approximately 50 households have been affected by the odour. Residents in the impacted area have been notified and have self-evacuated as needed. Authorities anticipate that HRFE and Halifax Water crews will remain on scene for several hours to investigate, monitor the situation, determine the source of the odour, and resolve the issue.
Residents are asked to avoid the area while crews conduct their work.
