IWK Perinatal Clinic Opens Larger Facility at Richmond Yards in Halifax
The IWK Perinatal Clinic has moved to a new, larger space at Richmond Yards in Halifax, opening on Friday. The relocation adds exam rooms and expands pregnancy and diabetes care as part of IWK Health's effort to integrate services into community settings.
The IWK Perinatal Clinic (PNC) opened a new facility at Richmond Yards in Halifax on Friday, marking a transition out of the standard hospital environment into a larger community-based space.

The clinic provides primary maternity care and high-risk obstetrical care. Its multidisciplinary team includes perinatal nurses, physicians, nutritionists, physiotherapists, and social workers. Dr. Jim Bentley serves as the head of the department of obstetrics and gynecology at IWK, while LeeAnn Larocque is the chief nurse executive.
The new location features five additional exam rooms, one additional intake room, and expanded spaces dedicated to pregnancy and diabetes care. The Adult Infusion Clinic, which serves referred obstetrical and gynecology patients, also relocated to the Richmond Yards site.

The move is part of IWK Health’s broader efforts to make specialty services more accessible and inclusive by integrating care into community settings rather than traditional hospital spaces. The clinic operates by referral only, and affected patients were notified about the transition.
