Man charged with attempted murder after Dartmouth stabbing

A 41-year-old man named Everett Laybolt has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged stabbing in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, on Monday night.
Halifax Regional Police responded to reports of a stabbing on Nantucket Avenue around 8:10 p.m. Officers found a 30-year-old male victim suffering from serious stab wounds. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Laybolt fled the scene but was apprehended approximately 20 minutes later on a Halifax Transit bus. During the arrest, police seized a knife from the suspect.
In addition to the attempted murder charge, Laybolt faces counts of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace. He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
