The Traffic Safety Act was passed last fall and goes into effect on Oct. 19. Officials state that the changes allow for easier updates and clarify language, providing flexibility to respond to emerging road safety issues.

Dawn Dalley, president and CEO of CAA Atlantic, says the association supports the new regulations. CAA Atlantic is encouraged by the focus on vulnerable road users, including children, cyclists, and emergency responders like tow operators. The updated framework aims to better protect all road users, particularly those most at risk.
