Nova Scotia's Need a Family Practice Registry Drops by Over 3,000 in September
Nova Scotia Health reports that the number of residents on the Need a Family Practice Registry fell by 3,433 in September, leaving 49,338 people—about 4.5 per cent of the province's population—still seeking a family doctor.

The number of Nova Scotians waiting to be connected with a primary care provider has fallen significantly over the past month. According to Nova Scotia Health, the Need a Family Practice Registry recorded 49,338 registrants at the end of September, down from 52,771 in August.
The decrease of 3,433 people reflects cumulative activity across the system during the month. This includes new registrations, patients being attached to doctors or nurse practitioners, and updates to existing registrant statuses.
Despite the reduction, approximately 4.5 per cent of the province's population remains on the registry, continuing to seek a family doctor.
