Nova Scotia RCMP Constable Charged with Criminal Harassment and Breach of Trust

RCMP Constable Wael Musleh faces charges of criminal harassment and breach of trust following a Serious Incident Response Team investigation into allegations involving a woman between May 30 and July 26. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on December 4.

Nova Scotia RCMP Constable Wael Musleh has been charged with two counts of criminal harassment and one count of breach of trust by a public officer following an investigation by the Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT).

The alleged offences occurred between May 30 and July 26 while Musleh was both on and off duty, involving allegations that he harassed a woman. Halifax Regional Police contacted SiRT about the allegations on July 26.

SiRT director Erin Nauss stated there are reasonable and probable grounds to believe Musleh committed criminal offences.

Meaghan Stewart, director of administration and personnel for Nova Scotia RCMP, called the charges troubling and confirmed an internal code of conduct investigation is ongoing. Musleh's duty status is being continuously assessed throughout the court and internal processes.

Reports differ regarding his current employment status. CTV Atlantic reports that Musleh has been suspended without pay, while SaltWire Nova Scotia reports that he is suspended with pay.

Musleh is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on December 4.
