The injured man was transported to the hospital following the incident. The driver involved was identified as an 84-year-old woman. She was charged with a summary offence ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian on a sidewalk when emerging from a driveway. There are no pending charges against the pedestrian.
Traffic on Hammonds Plains Road reopened at 1:40 p.m. According to police, the investigation into the incident remains in its early stages.
