Homicide Investigation Underway in Dartmouth After Shooting on Lahey Road
Police are investigating a homicide in Dartmouth after 39-year-old Thomas Junior Downey was shot and killed on Lahey Road. Authorities state the incident was not random, but no arrests have been made.
Halifax Regional Police are conducting an ongoing homicide investigation following a shooting that occurred in Dartmouth late Thursday night.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting on Lahey Road at approximately 10:30 p.m. on June 26. The victim, identified as 39-year-old Thomas Junior Downey from North Preston, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service has confirmed the manner of death as homicide.
The investigation is being led by the Major Crime Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division. Police believe the incident was not random; however, no arrests have been made at this time.
