The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Service is currently conducting autopsies to determine the cause and manner of death for both incidents. While investigations are still in their early stages, police warned that if the incidents are confirmed to be drug-related, the illicit substances involved may contain highly potent opioids such as fentanyl.
Authorities emphasized the risks associated with consuming illicit drugs containing unknown substances, which can lead to overdose, serious injury, or death. In response to these dangers, police advised the public to call 911 immediately if someone is experiencing an overdose and to administer naloxone if it is available.
