Halifax Police Respond to Non-Random Shooting on St. Andrews Avenue
A 25-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries in a shooting incident in Halifax, prompting police to close part of St. Andrews Avenue as they investigate the non-random event.
Halifax Regional Municipality Police responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 9:20 a.m. this morning in the 3300 block of St. Andrews Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers found a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound. Emergency Health Services (EHS) provided life-saving measures to the victim before transporting him to the hospital. Police believe his injuries are life-threatening.
The incident is not believed to be random, although authorities note that the investigation is still in its early stages. The incident number for the case is 26-97355.
Due to a heavy police presence, St. Andrews Avenue between Federal Avenue has been closed to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic while investigators work at the scene.
