Rainfall Warnings Issued for Parts of Nova Scotia as Marine Atlantic Cancels Ferry Crossings
Yellow rainfall warnings are in effect for several areas of Nova Scotia, with 50 to 70 mm of rain and gusty winds expected from Thursday morning through Friday evening. Marine Atlantic has cancelled ferry crossings on both days due to the adverse weather.
Heavy rain is expected across parts of Nova Scotia from Thursday morning until Friday evening, prompting yellow rainfall warnings for Guysborough County, Richmond County, Sydney Metro, and Cape Breton County.

Environment Canada forecasts that the affected areas will receive 50 to 70 mm of rain. The rainfall will be accompanied by gusty winds that may cause tree branches to break and lead to local utility outages. CTV Atlantic meteorologist Kalin Mitchell states that the wind should gradually ease from Friday evening into Saturday morning.
The adverse weather conditions have also disrupted marine travel. Marine Atlantic ferry crossings have been cancelled on both Thursday and Friday. The ferry service warns that non-cancelled sailings may face delays.

While Nova Scotia deals with the rainfall warnings, there are no current weather alerts in place for New Brunswick or Prince Edward Island. However, a gusty northerly wind is expected in both provinces.
