Eastbound Windmill Road in Halifax to Close Oct. 12–19 for Utility Work

The Halifax Regional Municipality will close the eastbound lane of Windmill Road between Wyse Road and Lyle Street from Oct. 12 to Oct. 19 to install utility connections for a nearby development. Westbound traffic remains open, but pedestrians and bus riders face detours.

The Halifax Regional Municipality has announced that the eastbound lane of Windmill Road between Wyse Road and Lyle Street will be closed around the clock from Monday, Oct. 12, to Monday, Oct. 19. The closure is required to install utility connections related to a nearby development.

Westbound traffic on Windmill Road will not be impacted by the work. Local access will be maintained throughout the closure via a marked detour route.

Pedestrians should plan alternative routes, as the sidewalk on the south side of Windmill Road will be closed during this period.

Halifax Transit service will also be affected. Three bus stops on Windmill Road between Lyle Street and Wyse Road will be temporarily closed. Buses 51A and 51B will operate on a detour for the duration of the road closure.
