Shaquille David Skinner, 32, faces a 10-day trial in February 2028 on 23 charges stemming from a December 2025 crash on Highway 107 that killed 52-year-old Glenn Rodrigues. Skinner has pleaded not guilty to all charges, which include impaired driving causing death and 19 firearm-related offenses.

A Nova Scotia Supreme Court judge has scheduled a 10-day trial for a 32-year-old man accused in a fatal December 2025 collision in Dartmouth.

Shaquille David Skinner is set to stand trial between Feb. 14 and Feb. 29, 2028. Justice Frank Hoskins ordered the proceedings to be conducted as a judge-alone trial.

Skinner is accused of driving a vehicle that collided with another car on Highway 107 near Exit 13N at approximately 8:05 p.m. on Dec. 27, 2025. Glenn Rodrigues, 52, of Dartmouth, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 41-year-old woman who was a passenger in Skinner's vehicle sustained serious injuries, while Skinner suffered minor injuries.

Skinner faces a total of 23 charges. These include impaired driving causing death, dangerous driving causing death, impaired driving causing bodily harm, and dangerous driving causing bodily harm. He also faces 19 firearm-related charges. Police allege that a black GSG Firefly semi-automatic pistol and a cartridge magazine found in Skinner's possession were stolen and had defaced serial numbers.

Skinner has pleaded not guilty to all 23 charges. He was denied bail last February following a hearing presided over by Judge Ann Marie Simmons.

Following his death, Rodrigues has received posthumous recognition within his profession. The Canadian Pharmacists Association named him its 2026 national pharmacist of the year. Additionally, the Canadian Foundation for Pharmacy announced it would honor Rodrigues with the 2026 Pillar of Pharmacy Award.
