A 44-year-old Halifax massage therapist is scheduled to stand trial in the Nova Scotia Supreme Court from January 17 to February 4, 2028, facing eight counts of sexual assault.
Sergii Kozub is accused of offences against eight female patients that allegedly occurred between November 2023 and December 2024. The 15-day hearing will proceed as a judge-alone trial. Justice Josh Arnold ordered that a Russian interpreter be present at the request of the defence.
Kozub was first arrested in March 2025 in connection with an incident at a Massage Addict clinic on Lacewood Drive in Halifax. Halifax Regional Police announced five additional charges in April 2025 and two more charges in September 2025. Kozub has pleaded not guilty to all counts.
The case was originally set for a provincial court trial in early 2027 after Kozub initially elected that venue. In August, he re-elected to have the matter heard in the Supreme Court, moving the trial date to 2028.
Kozub remains free on strict undertakings. His conditions include surrendering his passport, remaining within Nova Scotia, and having no contact with the complainants. A provincial court judge previously denied his application to travel out of the country for a vacation in March 2025.
