Woman Dies From Injuries Sustained in Suspicious Halifax Fire

A 50-year-old woman died on April 9 from injuries sustained in a fire that broke out at an apartment building on Enid Avenue in Halifax. The blaze occurred on April 3 at approximately 9:40 p.m.
Halifax Regional Police assisted Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency (HRFE) at the scene. According to reports, one resident was inside the unit where the fire originated, and a second resident from another unit reportedly entered to assist. HRFE located two women inside the unit who were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The 50-year-old woman, who resided in the unit where the fire started, succumbed to her injuries on April 9. The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service is currently conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
