An 18-year-old from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, faces terrorism charges for allegedly participating in the '764' network, a group designated as a terrorist entity in Canada in December 2025. The suspect was arrested in Alberta on Sept. 24 following an RCMP investigation into online activity on Discord and Telegram.
An 18-year-old resident of Yorkton, Saskatchewan, has been charged with terrorism-related offences for allegedly participating in the "764" network. The individual was arrested in Alberta on Sept. 24 by the RCMP federal policing northwest region's Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET).
The suspect faces charges of participating in the activity of a terrorist group, facilitating terrorist activity, and two counts of committing an offence for a terrorist group. The identity of the accused is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act because they were under the age of 18 at the time of the alleged crimes.
The charges stem from an investigation that began after authorities received a report about concerning online activity. Investigators found the user referenced in numerous 764-related chatrooms on Discord and Telegram, where the individual reportedly posted videos depicting real-world acts associated with the group.
764 is described as a transnational online ecosystem of violent predators who coerce youth into child sexual abuse, exploitation, self-harm, and animal torture. The network targets children and teens through platforms including Discord, Telegram, Roblox, and Minecraft. Canada listed 764 as a terrorist entity in December 2025.
The teen is scheduled to appear in Yorkton provincial court on Tuesday afternoon for a bail hearing.
This case follows other recent arrests linked to the same network. A 17-year-old from Lethbridge was arrested on Sept. 3 for similar terrorism-related offences connected to 764. Earlier, in April, a 26-year-old man from Quebec City was arrested on terrorism-related charges for promoting 764 ideology via Telegram.
