Halifax 311 Service to Be Disrupted for System Upgrade
The Halifax Regional Municipality has announced a scheduled interruption to its 311 service from Friday, September 25 at 6 p.m. to Saturday, September 26 at 11:59 p.m. The downtime is required for an upgrade to the Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping application.
Residents of the Halifax Regional Municipality are advised that 311 services will experience a scheduled disruption beginning Friday, September 25 at 6 p.m. and ending Saturday, September 26 at 11:59 p.m.
This interruption is necessary to complete a system upgrade to the municipality’s Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping application. The update impacts City works software used by the 311 Customer Contact Centre and other business units.
During this period, access to 311 services will be limited. Residents can still contact the service for property tax inquiries, compliance issues, permits and licensing, and urgent safety concerns such as downed trees or major potholes. However, online service requests will be unavailable throughout the disruption window.
For any issues not covered by the limited categories, residents are asked to wait until full service resumes on Sunday, September 27, to contact 311 or submit online requests.
